  • Civil Litigation

Born and raised in Midland, Ontario, Terry attended Laurentian University and graduated with honours obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Law & Justice and Psychology. Terry obtained LL.B from the University of Alberta Law Faculty. He was called to the bar in 2001.

Terry Waltenbury joined the team of Paquette & Paquette in 2010. Terry’s practice focuses primarily on personal injury cases and major criminal cases.

Terry is a trial lawyer and has appeared as lead counsel in several important trials, including appearances in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and various tribunals. He has also appeared before the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Terry’s success in the courtroom and the reputation that he developed trying cases earlier in his career allowed him to settle many cases without the need to go to trial either through negotiated settlements or private mediations.

A member of the Sudbury District Law Association, the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Ontario Bar Association, Terry is often asked to lecture and teach young lawyers on various aspects of litigation and advocacy. He is a former area director of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association of Ontario, and is a frequent speaker on continuing legal education panels.

Outside of the practice of law, Terry enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
